Update Graduate School Module (GSM) in Converis
New field in PhD admission
The primary thesis advisor is responsible for registration of his/her PhD student in the GSM. Besides the research programme, the primary thesis advisor is now required to select the research theme for new PhD students. The Graduate School Office will take care of completing this information for PhD students who have already been admitted to the Graduate School.

Registration of hours in Portfolio
The PhD student must build up a Portfolio of courses, lectures and other educational events which will eventually be published in the PhD thesis. The field that indicates the study load in hours for these events is now mandatory. Together, the Specific milestones and the Fixed milestones should total 280 hours: 140 hours research specific and 140 hours transferable skills activities. In 2018, these Leiden University regulations were communicated by the dean.
